To The 2010 Team:
The continuation of registration for returning swimmers and tryouts and registration of new swimmers* is set for Saturday May1 at the pool from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. During this time the Parks Office will be open for swim team passes. This will be the only time they will be open especially for this purpose. If you miss this opportunity passes will be available during regular Parks Office hours. As in previous years swim team passes are $12.00 and are only good during our team workout times and must be presented each time on entering the pool. If team members forget their pass they will be charged the daily admission fee. Any team member utilizing the pool during non-swim team hours must pay an admission fee or purchase a season pass. The season pass is in addition to the swim team pass. If team members wish to purchase an individual season pass the fee for 12 yrs and under is $20 and for 13 yrs to 59 it is $40. Family passes are also available.
Returning swimmers not able to register this Saturday need to declare their intent to do so by e-mailing me (Lpdcoachbud@aol.com). With the number of new swimmer inquiries received it may be come necessary to put a cap on membership. If this happens swimmers will be registered in the order their intent to do so is received.
The state TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) swimming program that we are members of includes competition for adults. Adults who would like to workout while their swimmers do and compete with the team at our home meets and the TAAF regional and state meets please register as the kids do. To cover the required TAAF membership and insurance the fee is $20. A PARD swim team pass is also required. Other parent can swim in the parent events at our home meet as before.
The first 2010 “Better Than” swim meet scheduled for May 15 will be moved back a week to May 22 to compensate for the delayed start. The rest of the meet and event dates remain the same as scheduled.
Workouts will start May 3 at 5:30 to 7:30 and continue Monday – Friday until
June 1st when we switch to the summer workout schedule.
Yours for the best in swimming,
Coach Bud
* Please note: New swimmers need to bring a copy of their birth certificate and there will be a new swimmer parents meeting at 10:00 AM. The clinics will be rescheduled if possible.
